Giving 2sday
What is #GivingTuesday?
Entering its seventh year, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources.
How your gift can have twice the impact
Last year, for #GivingTuesday, we began the tradition of doubling your impact, giving back in the aftermath of so many national tragedies. This year, we continue that tradition of #Giving2sday by committing to donate a portion of the money raised to support victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia. As the people affected by these tragedies begin to mend their homes, lives, and hearts, we hope to help make a difference.
When making a #Giving2sday donation to The Arc Southern Maryland, a portion of your donation will be given to benefit those recovering in Indonesia. The remainder will help us continue to enrich the lives of people with different abilities through job placement and coaching, safe and supportive housing, social development, community inclusion, and so much more.
Consider making 2x the impact with your gift this #Giving2sday. Donate once. Give twice.
