Celebration of Life

The Arc of Southern Maryland is saddened to announce that Greg Easton, passed away June 30, 2016 at the age of 47. Greg, who resided in the Barstow home, was a much beloved member of The Arc family.

Greg received services from The Arc for 27 years. He was affectionately known as “Ol Greg” because that’s how he addressed his friends. Instead of saying hi, he would put the term “Ol” before everyone’s name. Greg loved life! He actively participated in numerous programs and activities offered by The Arc. The one program he loved the most was music. Every Wednesday, he would get on the microphone during music and sing. He had a rich baritone. His favorite music genre to sing was gospel.

Greg was also a participant in People on the Go self-advocacygroup. He regularly attended meetings with his house staff. Every Thursday, he would take art classes, offered through the Twisted Stitchers group. He enjoyed creating the various projects. Every spring he looked forward to playing baseball with the members of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs as part of their Community Caravan program. He was also a regular member of Bethel Way of the Cross Church of Christ Inc., where his uncle, the Elder Darnell L. Easton, is a pastor. In fact, there has been a huge outpouring of support from the church for the family. Greg leaves behind both of his parents, siblings, numerous other relatives and friends. Greg touched many lives during his time here withThe Arc and will be truly missed.
